Kvitfjell: Snowsure Resort in a Snowsure Country

For the past 5 seasons, Kvitfjell has opened no later than the 6th of November. Our good snow condition statistics can be attributed to a cold and stable inland climate, combined with a well-developed snowmaking system. Last season we opened on October 7th and closed on the 22nd of April. This season we plan to open for the first ski keeners on the 27th of October. In an article in Guardian last year, when comparing snow conditions in the Alps, Norway was rated among the 5 most "snow-sure" areas in Europe: See the article in Guardian.
