Sunny Skies for Sunday\'s Official Opening of Vestsiden Express
Sunny skies and excellent skiing conditions made Sunday the perfect day to celebrate the official opening of Kvitfjell's new west-side lift, "Vestsiden Express". Bjørn Erik Borgen, shareholder of Kvitfjell Holding, came from Colorado to participate in the ceremony where he and Ringebu's Mayor Arnhild Baukhol cut the ribbon.
Members of the town council and ski guests gathered at the base of Vestsideløypa where in addition to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, they enjoyed music, refreshments, and a visit from Kvitfjell's Bamse-bear.
Vestsiden Express opened in late November. The six-seater lift starts at the bottom of the west-side and ends at the top-station of Kvitfjell Express. The official opening of Vestsiden Express represents the first of many new developments guests can enjoy this season, including other new west-side lifts "Barnetrekket Vestsiden" and "Fjellheisen". Collectively, the new developments on the west-side give access to 4 new pistes and an overall 25 km of terrain, including a new area for beginner skiers and children.
Visitors can look forward to a great winter at Kvitfjell, with the west-side providing new and exciting challenges for skiers of all skill levels.
